FitChat ("we", "us", "our") operates an AI-powered nutrition coaching service accessible through messaging platforms including Telegram, and WhatsApp ("the Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information: Your messaging platform user ID, display name, and preferred language.
- Meal data: Food descriptions, photos of meals, and nutritional information you log through the Service.
- Health goals: Calorie and macronutrient targets you set within the Service.
- Conversation history: Messages you send to the Service for the purpose of providing contextual coaching.
- Food memories: Food preferences and custom entries you ask the Service to remember (e.g., "my protein shake is 30g protein").
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: Timestamps of interactions, feature usage patterns, and message counts for service improvement.
- Platform data: Information provided by messaging platforms as part of their bot/webhook APIs (e.g., chat ID, message metadata).

Invitation link visits: When someone opens a FitChat
invitation link (for example
fitchat.app/fit-abcde), we record the invitation code, the time, the IP address, the browser and device type, the country, and the page the visit came from. We use this only to measure how many people an invitation reached; it is not linked to a FitChat account unless that person later signs up, and it is deleted after 13 months.
Information we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your email address, phone number, or real name unless you voluntarily share it.
- We do not access your contacts or your location. We do not collect device information through the messaging service — only the limited browser and device type described above, and only when an invitation link or the website is opened in a browser.
- We do not read messages you send to other users.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide the Service: Process your meal logs, calculate nutritional data, track daily progress, and deliver AI coaching.
- Improve accuracy: Use conversation context to provide more relevant nutritional estimates and coaching advice.
- Service improvement: Analyze aggregate, anonymized usage patterns to improve the Service.
- Communication: Send you service-related messages (e.g., daily summaries, goal reminders) that you can opt out of at any time.
3. AI Processing
FitChat uses third-party AI models (Anthropic Claude) to process your messages and provide nutritional coaching. When you send a message:
- Your message and relevant conversation history are sent to Anthropic's API for processing.
- Anthropic processes data according to their Privacy Policy. Under their commercial API terms, your data is not used to train their models.
- We log AI interaction metadata (model used, token count, processing time) for cost monitoring and service optimization.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored in secure, encrypted databases hosted on infrastructure with industry-standard security practices.
- We use encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) for all data transfers.
- Access to user data is restricted to authorized personnel only.
- We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- AI providers (Anthropic): To process your messages and provide the Service. Subject to their data processing agreements.
- Messaging platforms: Through their standard bot APIs to deliver messages to you.
- Payment processors (Stripe): If you make a purchase. We do not store your payment card details.
- Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your data stored by the Service.
- Correction: Update or correct your information.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data. Contact us and we will delete your data within 30 days.
- Data portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent: Stop using the Service at any time. You can also request removal of stored data.
7. Children's Privacy
FitChat is not intended for children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will delete it promptly.
8. Cookies and Tracking
The FitChat website (fitchat.app) sets one cookie, which remembers your language choice. We use no advertising trackers and no analytics cookies, and we do not profile you or follow you across other websites. The messaging service itself uses no cookies.
To understand how the website is used we run Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views and visits without cookies, without fingerprinting, and without any identifier that would let us or Cloudflare recognise you on a later visit or on another site. It reports aggregate figures only — pages, countries, referring sites, browser and device type. Cloudflare acts as our data processor. Because this measurement uses no cookies and cannot identify you, it needs no consent banner. Invitation link visits are recorded separately and are described under "Information collected automatically" above.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify active users of significant changes through the Service. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
